But, do you know that nearly 81% of bloggers never make as much as $100 from their blog? This is because a lot of bloggers tend to quit in the first 6 months of starting their blog.
Now, what about the other 19%? are those bloggers rich? are they making money from their Blogs?
Yes, They are and you too can become rich with blogging. But, of course, there’s much more to this than a simple yes. There are thousands of factors to consider before we can conclude. That said, about 2% of the bloggers make above $150K per year and the rest make below that and does easily manage to support their family.
How to Become a Successful Blogger and Get Rich?
Starting a blog is easy but being successful with it takes a great deal of time and effort. Here are some things that you should note down if you ever want to be a successful blogger and be the 2% of the bloggers that make over $150K.
Patience
Patience is one of the main things that you want before you start blogging. Because there will be a time when the only visitors to your blog are just your relatives and the google crawl bots.
Every single blogger goes through that time and the people that succeed are the ones who stay patient and motivated.
Consistency
Articles need to be published on a regular basis on your blog. Regularly publishing new content gives a good sign to Google.
If you are starting, I would recommend you post atleast 10-15 posts per month. That way you will have almost 120 – 180 posts in 12 months.
But this isn’t necessary, you can post them any day and anytime you like. But to get the maximum results in a short period of time, publishing 10-15 posts per month is the best way.
Hardwork
There are no shortcuts in blogging. Only if you work hard will you start seeing some results.
So, get on with it!

Avoiding some common mistakes
There are some mistakes that a lot of bloggers do when they start. One of them is buying backlinks and traffic. This is something that you should avoid at all costs.
I did do the mistake of buying backlinks and I still regret it till date.
Another mistake is looking for “Gurus” and watching a lot of blogging videos trying to increase your traffic. It’s good to research for legit gurus but it takes out a great deal of time.
Continue reading and I will let you which guru to follow.
Another mistake that new bloggers make is relying on SEO tools like Semrush, Ahrefs, etc. These tools won’t be of any help to you. So, try and stay away from them. I have explained the reasons why investing in SEO tools is such a waste of time in this post. So, be sure to check it out.

Niche Selection
Niche selection is a crucial part of blogging. Selecting a niche in which you are interested will let you stay positive and do something that you love doing.
However, it’s also important to look at the current competition and search volume before you choose one.
If you select a broad and competitive topic like digital marketing, your blog will take a lot of time to catch up because there are thousands of blogs in this industry. (This blog is still trying to catch up)
And if you select a very narrow topic, it may not get as many traffic as you think it will.
Monetization capability and seasonality are also some other factors that you may want to check before selecting.
So my point is, always choose a niche where:-
- You do have some interest in it.
- There is a bit of search volume. (Use google trends to see if your niche has some search volume or not).
- There is less competition.
- Not seasonal (like Fishing)
- Monetization capability (This is something that you need to be least concerned about. Most niches these days can be monetized in some other way).

Learning the correct methods and practices
When you start to blog, there will be millions of questions that revolve around your head. The main questions would be related to SEO.
If you search Google, you will find some answers but it sometimes may not be true. There are some bloggers who put out great content while there are others who do not.
So, who should you follow? There are some big names in this industry like Neil Patel, Brian dean etc. But, I won’t recommend following them because they do not speak in the beginner’s point of view.
I recommend following Income School. They are the most legit people that I have seen in this internet marketing niche. My blog took a big turn since I started watching their videos on Youtube. They have a very good course too called “Project 24”. I haven’t bought it yet but the free content that they upload on Youtube is too good that I can’t imagine how valuable their paid course would be.
Keyword Research and SEO
Keyword research is one of the most important things that you need to learn when you start your blogging journey.
Whichever niche you choose and however competitive your niche is, if you can nail the keyword research and find some untapped keywords, you will definitely start seeing some results.
Below is a video about keyword research that literally changed my blog. Please do spare 20 minutes of your time on it and I can guarantee you that this will help you in the future.
As for SEO, use the Rank Math SEO plugin to optimize. What this plugin does is that it suggests some things that you should do to improve your on-page SEO.
Do almost everything that they ask but not the “keyword density” one. Depending on the number of words you have in your blog post, they will suggest you to add more of your focus keywords into the post. DO NOT do it. It will look like keyword stuffing to Google.
Quality content
Content is king when it comes to Blogging. Your content has to be engaging, niche-based and optimized for SEO.
When you write an article, make sure that you put your best effort into it. Try to add in stats, infographics and images to make it more engaging and interesting.
And remember, always choose quality over quantity!

Knowing How to Monetize Your Blog
Getting visitors to your blog is awesome but knowing how to monetize that audience is where you will have to improve as a blogger. Here are some ways to monetize your blog:
- Advertisement– sites with a significant amount of traffic can monetize with advertisements. Some most common advertisers are Google Adsense, Mediavine, Ezoic etc.
- Affiliate Marketing– You can display other companies’ products and direct your audience to their website. You will get a share of the products price when any purchases are made using the link from your site.
- Create and sell an online course or an eBook.
- Many bloggers use Blogging as something they can add to their résumé to get more gigs. Similarly, you can offer services such as counselling, consulting, writing all while blogging and also get clients directly from your blogs.
- You can promote certain brands, products on your blogs and make the entire blog dedicated to those products. This way, the brands of these products would pay you for promotional activities.
- Sponsored Posts are a less threatening way of advertising, and many companies prefer this. You still write for your audience and yet advertise the product.
- Blogging is online but using this, you can earn offline as well. You can conduct Meets, Workshops, Webinars, Contests, etc.
- Sell your own products and merchandise. You can run your e-commerce blogs to promote your e-commerce sites.
- Podcasts, Public Speeches and Freelancing Projects are other gigs you can easily get when you are blogging.
